Trust me, this is one DIY you will want to learn how to do! A faux tree can cost hundreds of dollars AND a really good one can cost EVEN MORE!
Today, I’m sharing how I DIY’d this faux tree… and all for under $50! Our tree was around 12 feet tall, so it could definitely be scaled down if you’re looking for something a bit smaller.
The fun thing about making your own faux tree is the possibilities are literally endless. I went with an artificial Ficus tree look, but an olive may have been a close second!
A FEW TIPS:
-The better quality your leaves, the more realistic your tree will look
– Turning and twisting each faux stem slightly will give a very natural look to your stems
-Rub your leaves with a tiny bit of olive oil if you want them to shine a bit (I didn’t try this, but have seen it!)
-End as many branches/tips with a leaf/stem as you can (the ficus have those droopy leaves, perfect for a ficus!)
-Trim off any twigs/stems not utilized in the end. Careful, Don’t take TOO much off!
